Programs HIPAA Regulations: As the "Wellness Wave" continues to
travel across the U.S. and more employers begin to introduce Wellness Programs
into their culture, HIPAA Regulations must be adhered to in order to prevent
discrimination. This articles explains the Wellness Program HIPAA Regulations
that were passed in December 2006 and that plans were required to comply with by January 1, 2008.
Creditable
Coverage Letters due to eligible employees by November 15th: The
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requires that employers
disclose to all Medicare eligible employee and/or dependents (including spouses
or dependents) whether or not the group's prescription drug plan is creditable.
This must be done on an annual basis and prior to the Medicare Part D Annual
Coordinated Election Period (ACEP) -- beginning November 15th through December
